The former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira is in the hunt to strike off “former” from his well-acclaimed label. He is all set to lock horns with Michael Chandler on 16th November at UFC 309 – the winner of this fight could most probably be the next title challenger. Charles is ready to compete for something that was once one of his priciest possessions. In the process of doing so, he does not mind fighting for the BMF belt – which is currently under the possession of Max Holloway who expressed his desire to stay more active at lightweight.

In a recent interview with MMA Fighting, the former lightweight champion shared his thoughts on fighting for the BMF belt.
“I’m about legacy,” Oliveira said, as quoted by mmafighting.com. “That’d be great. Why not? As I’m talking about [legacy], I mean, being the BMF champ would be gigantic for that".

"Listen, I’m ready, happy, very motivated, I’m just waiting for the day to come. I just love the opportunity. I’m always ready for a match and I think that whatever the UFC says, I’m ready to go. They know I’m ready to compete and I know that I’m winning this match and I’m next in line [for the title]. That’s how I feel”.
