De Bruyne ends Manchester City career with sharp criticism of club bosses

Kevin de Bruyne has made no secret of how disappointed he is still that Manchester City did not extend his contract after everything he has given for the club and has decided to take fierce revenge on Pep Guardiola and the leaders of the team from the Etihad.

De Bruyne has been a member of Manchester City for ten years and hoped to stay at the Etihad even longer, but to his great surprise, that will not happen.

De Bruyne was recently informed by Etihad chiefs that they would not be offering a contract extension and that he could look for a new club and leave Manchester City when his contract expires at the end of next month.

In the first part of the season, it was almost certain that De Bruyne would stay, but after an incredible drop in the form of the whole team and desperate results at the end, it was Pep Guardiola who decided that he no longer needed the Belgian.

Soon after, De Bruyne announced that he was leaving in the summer, which shocked even the fans, and he showed that it was difficult for him in the statement he made after the defeat in the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace.

Club World Cup

Namely, De Bruyne was asked if he would play for City at the Club World Cup, as Guardiola requested, but the Belgian did not even think about it and immediately gave the answer to the Spaniard.

"I won't play in the Club World Cup before the end of my contract. Who will take care of me if I get injured? There is no point in me playing there, I have to take care because soon I will be without a club," said De Bruyne and added.

"It's easy to make decisions when you're in your 20s and you can play every three days without any problems and travel from one end of the world to the other. Now I have a family, I'm older and I have to take care of every detail".

Although Pep, through the head of the club, tried to fight for De Bruyne's contract to be extended for a few more weeks in order to play in the mentioned competition, in the end, the Belgian flatly rejected them.

Also, the Belgian midfielder will say goodbye to Manchester City tomorrow when this team plays the last match at the Etihad this season.

The last game for the Citizens will be played on the weekend away to Fulham in the last round of the Premiership.
