How much of a burden has Israel become to the US?

Israel has attacked a United States ally, pulled the US into a warfare with Iran and continues to perpetrate genocide successful Gaza.

Yet it inactive has US support.

And among the American people, Israel’s popularity has nosedived.

So wherefore does the authorities proceed to shield and support Israel?

And is the US unable, oregon unwilling, to alteration the behaviour of the Israeli government?
