Basketball fans hoped that Michael Jordan would return to the NBA again, having a specific role, and it seems that their dreams have become reality.

The legendary Michael Jordan, six-time NBA champion, returns to the spotlight. This time, however, he will have a new role.

Jordan was the owner of the Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets from 2010 to 2023, although he remained a minority owner of that franchise, and the 62-year-old is returning to the strongest league in the world in the role of a professional consultant.

It is a joint project of the NBA League, NBC television and Peacock streaming service, and the arrival of the most famous basketball player in the history of the hoops game was pompously announced on the former Twitter and the current X.

The excitement is palpable, given that Michael is an important figure in the basketball scene, and a person who certainly knows how to attract attention.

"A legendary addition to our team! We are excited to welcome Michael Jordan as a special NBA contributor on NBC and Peacock," NBC and Peacock announced on X.

Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley

It is clear that two NBA legends, Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley, who work as analysts in the show "Inside the NBA", which until this season was broadcast on TNT television, are getting competition.

This is Jordan's first active role in the media, and before him is a task that includes more than 100 matches that will be broadcast live on the aforementioned television and service.

The six-ring winner had not appeared in public since his third "playing" retirement in 2003 until the release of the documentary "The Last Dance," in which Jordan, teammates, rivals and associates from the Bulls reflected on his career.

Jordan will have celebrated colleagues on the same task, namely Reggie Miller, Carmelo Anthony and Jamal Crawford.

It will be really interesting to see how Michael will manage in his new role and whether he can be an important figure for these TV companies. As a basketball legend, he knows the inside of the league, as well as the players, and could be an important addition.
