Milwaukee Brewers manager reacts to Caleb Durbin's arrival: I watched him earlier

Caleb Durbin could be a great addition for the Milwaukee Brewers after the Brewers sent closer Devin Williams to the New York Yankees. Nestor Cortes will also be a new addition to this team.

Manager Pat Murphy, as a great expert and connoisseur of this sport, had already 'felt' the talent of this young man and had no doubt that Durbin would be an interesting option for him. Following his son's work, he couldn't help but notice Caleb's talent. Murphy admitted that he was impressed with his performance.

“I’ve known about this kid,” Murphy said, as quoted by Wi Sports Heroic.

“I saw him play in the Northwoods League as a college player — he was in Fond du Lac [Wisc.] and my kid [Kai] was playing in the league. Then I saw him parts of two years in the [Arizona] Fall League."

The Milwaukee Brewers have an interesting philosophy: as they want to have diversity, talent, and experience in their team. Analyzing the best option at the moment, they had no doubt that Caleb could be the future of the team. His characteristics attracted the attention of the leaders of this team, who gave the green light for his arrival.

“When we were considering the trade, I know our people understood what kind of guy we got here. He fits a team that plays the way we’ve played recently, and we’re as excited as heck.”- he said.

Durbin reacts

The 24-year-old sees this as a great opportunity. Durbin has no doubt that he can do something great by joining this team, aware of how ambitious the project is and how much they wanted to have him on the team.

“I think it’s perfect. From my sense of what the team’s identity is, it’s a lot of guys playing with a chip on their shoulder. That’s kind of been something I play with my entire career growing up.”- he said.
