Jon Jones is considered by many to be one of the greatest UFC fighters. Building his name over the years, Jones has been labeled by many as the greatest of all time, considering that no one could stand in his way or defeat him. Although his career has been marked by scandal, no one can deny his successes on the UFC scene
Chael Sonnen, a household name in the UFC, remembers well the UFC 159 event, when he challenged Jones for the light heavyweight title back in 2013. In an interview with the media, the experienced fighter emphasized that it is difficult to describe Jones' talent. Chael recalled training, where Jones did not even seem tired.
-It is very difficult to explain how talented he is in this game. We worked together on ‘‘The Ultimate Fighter’’, and my confidence grew day by day. First of all, when they offered him a fight against me, he turned it down. That was an honor for me, I told everyone how Jon Jones turned me down for the fight; Sonnen started Fight Back.
-I trained twice a day, every day, six days a week. He didn't even break a sweat. Some days he didn't even come. He was in the clubs. I thought I would at least beat him in terms of fitness, I thought I was doing the right thing and training, but this guy just knows how to play this game - he added.
Their fight: Jon won
Less than one round was enough for Jones to finish this fight, and he did it with elbows at the end of the first round. After that came those legendary fights against Gustafsson, Teixeira and Cormier, and you probably remember them very well if you were already a fan of this sport at the time.
The famous UFC fighter is still here, but the question is how ready he is now.
