It is a privilege to say that the best tennis player of all time and currently the best basketball player on the planet come from our country. Novak Đoković and Nikola Jokić push the boundaries in their disputes, and their mutual respect is exemplary.

Jokić was left without the MVP award, which went to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, but the Serbian center was selected in the ideal five of the NBA league.

“Nikola, congratulations on another historic season. From our beloved homeland, Serbia, all the way to Denver, we are super proud of you in this new record-breaking season. You've broken so many records and made history once again. Proving everybody wrong that you cannot go further than you have in the last three, four years. I'm always a big supporter of yours, and I'll keep on watching you make more history. So, congratulations and keep it going." reads Djokovic's message sent to Jokić in both English and Serbian.

Nikola really broke a lot of records this year, collected a lot of triple-doubles, played 30/20/20 and 60/10/10 games and somehow that wasn't enough for the MVP.

Speaking of records and jubilees, Đoković will have the opportunity to win the 100th title in his career today in the Geneva final against Hubert Hurkacz from 15:00.

Novak Đoković on Nikola Jokić

Previously, the Serbian tennis player had only words of praise for Jokic, believing that he is a person who is the pride of his country.

“What he has done for not just Serbian basketball but European basketball in general is incredible. He has rewritten the history books in the last three years, and he just keeps going. He is in his prime. He’s the best.”

“We’re super proud of him. I’m a great supporter of him, and everything he does. We didn’t have too many athletes like him in the history [of Serbia], so he’s right up there. And he still isn’t finished”, he commented.
