Paddy Pimblett is one of the most famous names in the UFC scene, and he has been attracting special attention in recent months. His controversial behavior, style and fights are one of the reasons why he is such a popular figure on the UFC scene.
Paddy Pimblett achieved the biggest victory of his career so far last week. He defeated Michael Chandler by technical knockout in the third round at UFC 314, moving up to eighth place in the official lightweight rankings, so he can expect something big in his next match.
Pady Pimblett talks about gaining weight
However, apart from his fights, what Paddy is certainly known for is what he does outside the cage. Yes, it is about gaining weight immediately after fights, and despite the fact that he promised not to do it again, it seems that it is stronger than him. Yesterday, in an interview with the legendary Bruce Buffer, he admitted that since the weigh-in on Friday, that is, ten days ago, he has gained almost 20 kilograms.
-I drank five milkshakes right after the fight, literally. This morning I woke up weighing 90 kilograms, which is fat. This is the most I have ever had, I never touch 90 kilograms. But that is only in America, this food turns me into a machine. When I get back to England I’ll be around 88kg, Paddy said on the ‘‘It’s Time!’’ podcast.
Paddy explained that in America the portions are huge and restaurants offer free refills on drinks and other things, which is the main reason why, he says, this time is the heaviest ever.
While this may be endearing to some, this is probably a serious eating disorder because gaining 20kg in just over a week is definitely not normal, regardless of the weight regain process that every fighter has to go through after the weigh-in.
It will be quite interesting to follow his fight and see what potential he has and how much of an impact it will have.
