Rematch stuns gaming world with more testers than FC 25

The newest game from the Slocap studio will be the soccer simulation Rematch, which will be released on June 19.

The game will cost $30 and will be available for PC users, as well as Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.

It is a football game, which is somewhat surprising for the company behind the brawler titles Sifu and Absolver. However, it appears to be an arcade game rather than a serious simulation. Players will be able to enjoy 5v5 and 4v4 matches, and the action seems to be quite fast.

What is interesting is that there are no fouls, offsides and other rules, because the game is "designed for non-stop competition". The game even has a boundary wall similar to the one in Rocket League, so the ball cannot go out of bounds. Rematch offers a number of quickplay modes, as well as different backgrounds for matches, and it's even possible to play underwater.

Steam

It seems that the players are very interested in trying a different game of football. Namely, the second day of testing the soccer title Rematch on Steam is underway, and the game has attracted an enviable number of players.

Yesterday, 118,739 players simultaneously played Rematch in beta testing. For comparison, that's almost eight thousand more players than EA Sports FC 25 ever managed to gather. Or rather – more than any FC / FIFA game has had on Steam so far. Furthermore, that’s five times more players than eFootball has managed to gather in its four years of existence. As far as football games go, only Rocket League has had a better result with 147 thousand simultaneous players.

Now, Rematch is still in testing, so we still don’t know if the game itself has liked it. I have to admit that I was put off by a lot of the learning curve, and in the first game I barely got to meet the ball. However, the interest of the players is already obvious, especially considering that this beta test was not advertised with all the bells and whistles.
