Son of NFL legend stuns at training camp, contender for starting quarterback

Shedeur Sanders was known as one of the biggest talents in the NFL draft, but due to his personality traits, many teams bypassed him and he was selected only on the last day of the draft, in the fifth round. Thus, the quarterback from the University of Colorado was chosen by the Cleveland Browns, who after DeShaun Watson's injury have not yet resolved the issue of the most important position in the NFL.

Thus, they currently have Sanders (5th round of the draft), Dillon Gabriel (3rd round of the draft), Kenny Pickett, mostly a reserve in his career so far, and Joe Flacco, Super Bowl champion from 2013, on their roster. None of them is secure in the starting position and everything is open before the start of the season.

Sanders therefore believes that he has a chance to become the main option in the attack, and for that he also received coverage. According to the X profile NFL Rookie Watch, Browns coaches are delighted with the accuracy of the son of the legendary Deion Sanders and think he looks like a 10-year NFL veteran on the field.

In addition to fighting for the starting position, Sanders reportedly wants to enter the race for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Browns coach Kevin Stefanski reacts

Browns coach Kevin Stefanski had only words of praise for both Shedeur and Dillon, saying that they had been preparing for this for a long time. They wanted to introduce these players to the club and the club's leadership, and it seems they did the right thing.

"I think the fun part is we’ve spent so much predraft time with these players, particularly when we’re talking about our quarterbacks with Dillon and Shedeur," he said. "We’ve spent meeting time with them out of this building. We’ve taken them through walk-throughs, and then they get to go do it in uniform with the helmets on and just see what they can take from the meeting room to the grass."

There are high expectations from the public and the club when it comes to Shedeur Sanders.
