In a guest appearance on High Performance, WWE main man Triple H shared some interesting informations, focusing on John Cena and his farewell tour. Talking to John, Triple H pointed out that his interlocutor was open to any option, ready to play his character and give his best. Such an approach of the WWE legend amazed Triple H.
Triple H said, “As we came into it John is going to come back and he wants to retire and do one last run. John and I spoke, and he is very much the quintessential pro in that, ‘I have my thoughts on things, but whatever you want me to do, I will give you 1000% and do that to the best of my ability. I just play a character named John Cena.’”- he said, as quoted by Pwmania.
John Cena and Triple H's views
John Cena is a wrestler who is aware of the essence of this company and what WWE brings with it. This is also the reason why he did not have his own conditions, nor did he want to impose his visions on anyone. The experienced wrestler clearly had certain ideas in his head, but they did not concern the outcome of his match or his character.
Triple H knew that his tour could bring a lot of positive things and amaze wrestling fans. The two had the chance to work together, and the chemistry that reigns between them is certainly the basis of the success of this story, there is no doubt about that.
“He’s not overly concerned about the stakes of it or anything else. When we talked he was like, ‘If you want me to lose every match, if you want me to win every match, if you want me to be champion again, that’s all fine with me.’ We started to talk about it and in my mind, and I think it was in his mind too, the safe thing to do is a year-long tour where he goes town to town and he does his greatest hits and it’s safe, easy, and fun. As a performer, you’re sort of going through the motions and playing the same concert you’ve played a million time. People love it, but I’ve seen it. It’s nice, safe, easy, and fun.”- he concluded.
