Yuki Tsunoda explains key differences between Red Bull and Racing Bulls cars

1 week ago 3

Yuki Tsunoda highlighted the key differences between his RB21 car and the Racing Bulls car he drove this year, after having two races in each. His discovery is quite impressive.

Tsunoda revealed a significant difference between the car he now drives for Red Bull compared to the one he previously drove for Racing Bulls.

The Japanese driver has spent equal time with both teams, appearing for Racing Bulls at the first two races in Australia and China, before a surprise move to Red Bull after the team decided to demote Liam Lawson.

The Japanese driver struggled at the start of the Japanese Grand Prix as Max Verstappen's team-mate, before scoring his first points for Red Bull as their second driver in Bahrain on Sunday, finishing ninth.

This year, the RB21 proved to be a difficult car to drive, even for Verstappen, who complained of braking and balance problems during the weekend in Bahrain, and finished the race in sixth place.

Differences

Explaining the differences he's noticed so far between the two cars he's driven this year, Tsunoda told Dutch RacingNews365:

"It's not the same.

To get into the window where the car needs to perform, the VCARB has a much wider range. Whatever you do - almost - that car can work well with any kind of balance."

My Red Bull has a specific kind of setup, that window, the tires, and it's really hard to find that tight window.

That difference is pretty big for me because I've never thought about warm-up before, how to warm up the tires, and about tuning, so that's the hardest part for me to learn."- he said.

Fans ask the question: How much can Tsunoda really do in the strongest category, and can he surpass the results of Liam Lawson. A great chance has opened up for Yuki, and the question is how he will use it. Red Bull fans are hoping for the best, feeling that Tsunoda is a promising driver who can really offer more than his predecessor.
