Unfortunately, for years we have not had any fresh information about Michael Schumacher and his health. The legendary F1 driver and his condition are still a mystery, but that does not change the fact that the German is still one of the main topics in the media years later. Popular F1 commentator Martin Brundle had the opportunity to work with Michael Schumacher, but their relationship was not always ideal.
Interestingly, Brundle and Schumacher were teammates in 1992, before the popular commentator was replaced.
Martin revealed in an interview with the media that he had not communicated with Schumacher for five years. Ex F1 driver stressed that the German media created chaos after they took his words out of context. After Michael saw such a thing, he became angry and did not want to communicate with Brundle for 5 years.
“Well, weirdly, we fell out because something I said was translated, taken out of context and translated into German and put in a headline and newspaper.
And Michael got very upset, I have no idea what it was to this day. He wouldn’t speak to me for five years, it was really odd.
And then we got drunk together in a nightclub in Valencia when he was on his sabbatical between Mercedes and Ferrari."- he said, as quoted by Crash.
They managed to resolve things
The 65-year-old admitted that after the night in Valencia, they managed to iron things out and have a great relationship again. Although Brundle still doesn't know what the problem was, he still has a bitter taste in his mouth when he remembers that period.
“We were fine after that, he was sort of hanging off my shoulder, like, ‘My teammate, my teammate!’
And it broke the ice again. So I really don’t know what the problem was, but that was a real shame.”
In the end, the F1 pundit can be happy that he managed to solve the problem with him.
